Question Why does TDP and PPT differ, on consumer CPUs? And what role does Core Performance Boost and Turbo Clocks have on TDP and wattage?

What's it trying to clock to and how many volts is it pushing? I played around with the stock cooler on my 1600 (14nm Zen1) for awhile until my AM4 mounts showed up for my 140mm AIO. It ran ~3.2ghz @ 1.18v All core churning though hours of Prime and stayed in the low 80's with the fan screaming...

Zen 2 APUs/"Renoir" discussion thread

I played around with a 2400G for quite awhile and most games I played where held back by the Ram (3200 C14 is the best the chip would run). Especially with the Vega 11 clocked to 1550mhz. Granted there were some games that kept scaling with clock increases but it was at a performance ledge IMO...

Question Show and tell: Your all time favorite gpu?

Sapphire 7950 OC, I JUST retired it after 7+ years of use. Clocked to 1200mhz from day one which was a huge boost over the default 925mhz. I replaced it with a RX5700 in my Daughters rig 2 weeks ago as she got into VR with a Quest and needed a VR card.

Xbox One Headset Recommendations?

I just use the cheapest Turtle beach ones for the kiddos, Usually can catch a sale for around 20-25$. They have been pretty durable, kids haven't needed the spare yet LoL!

Anyone have long term experience with an epoxy garage floor?

Heated or Non-heated. It will never last long in a non-heated garage as the yearly freeze/thaw cycle causes the concrete to sweat moisture between the coating and the concrete.

I really doubt its going to be anywhere near 300w of power, probably under 250W actually. I seriously doubt they will push the clocks much past maximum efficiency range but I really haven't seen a review that underclocks/undervolts a 5700/5700x to see how much power can be cut. I know my "old"...

Discussion WOW was going to upgrade my son 8370 w/my 1600 till I saw this video....

Had a 8320 @ 4.5ghz and now have a R1600 @ 4.0 and I game at 1440p with setting that jive well with 75hz Freesync. I can tell you that the R1600, even at stock 3.2ghz, NEVER performed worse in a game than the old 8320. Quite a few games where the 8320 kept pretty close but under heavy stress...

Ryzen 1600X 95W

Many of the recent 1600's hit 4.0 pretty easy. I've built 2 recently and both did 3.8 @ default 1.21v and 4.0 @ 1.325 all core. Cheap Microcenter builds for family members. Also the newer 3000/3200 (AES in the Part number) Crucial memory works great with the 1st gen Ryzen, no issues running 3200...

I could see 20CU getting enough bandwidth, if they are clocked pretty low. Playing around with my 2400G I find ~3000 ddr4 to be the point of diminishing returns, most games don't gain any more performance beyond that at STOCK 1250 clocks. 16CU would probably be Ideal @ 4266 but maybe 20CU at a...

i dont overlock anymore because it outdated

Na, I tend to buy chips that tend to have some decent headroom (aka, the cheaper version). Pretty good overclock on my Current R1600 with 4.0ghz all core vs. the 3300 stock all core. Granted not a big of a jump as my 8320 was with a 3.5 to 4.5 overclock or my Old Athlon XP Mobile with the wire...

I'd Suggest a RX470 8gb, I've seen quite a few sneak through eBay under 80$, Bought mine for 74$ shipped (and sold my 7950 for 62$ a week later)

Microcenter B&M Ryzen (1st-gen) CPU deals - in store only! (Ryzen 5 1600 $79.99!)

I wonder when they quit making these particular chips? The one I got a few weeks ago (above) is 5th week of 18' and runs 3.8 @ stock 1.22v and 4.0 @1.325v. My MC has been OOS a few times now for a week or so at a time, but they keep restocking.
