    hi fyb3r, Thanks but i doubt it's got anything to do with the AP though, as the laptop can connect and download fine. I even tried using my phone to connect to the AP, did a speed test and get about 9mbps too. And I did that at the same location where the PC is.

    That's what I thought too but I moved the PC to within 4 feet from the AP, no walls, and it's still the same. We've done multiple speed tests and they all seem to be very consistent - about 0.8 to 1mbps... so consistent that it gives me the feeling that it's being throttled. But I don't see how...
