Okay, scratch that. I'm an idiot who's not used to this whole "The CPU has its own power cable" deal that new systems have. Things are up and running again, but there is no discernable change in the behavior of the two cores. One is a solid 15C higher at idle.

I just picked up an Athlon 64 X2 6000+, and am seeing a very large difference between the temps the two cores are reporting to speedfan. At idle, the difference is almost 15C, but under load (2 copies of Prime95), the "cooler" core catches up and the gap is only 6C or so. It doesn't seem...
