Escaping from Lotus Notes

I did talk to IT. The guy responsible for it told me I'm welcome to try. He even gave me a clue that there's a custom DNS entry for a server that has an IMAP port open, but I haven't found that yet. The only reason we still have Notes is corporate HQ politics. Everyone hates, especially IT.

Mysterious hidden networks

But isn't it weird that NONE of those MAC addresses shows up in the OUI database? You would think that at least one of those would be from a known vendor. It looks as if all the MAC addresses are actually fake.

The mysterious "net" background process (Mac OS X 10.5.8)

Yahoo Mail on Mac Mail

A better DNS solution

I know those DNS servers are awesome - the problem is that they're resolving streaming video server addresses in a way that makes it impossible to use. So I'm trying to find a place in the middle, maybe a local caching server.

So here's my problem: my router is running DD-WRT and I was noticing YouTube videos were painfully slow. Turns out it uses the DNS server you're using to choose what server will serve you video, and since I was using root DNS servers (4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2) it was giving me the worst possible...

I can get to NBC, but the videos won't play. It only works when you have an US IP. One of my colleagues is already there and he's telling me he can't see them.

Hey guys, I'm leaving the US for the next two weeks, and I'd like to be able to use NBC's video service. I have a laptop running Vista and a desktop computer running XP. Is there a way of using my XP computer as a proxy so I can see the videos from abroad? Thanks.

Transcoding to the 360 with 5.1 audio solution

Hey. I got Windows Media Encoder to transcode from .avi to .wmv, but everytime there's 5.1 (AC3) audio it transcodes into only 2 channels. Is there any way of making it transcode to 6 channels? Is there another program that's able to do it? Thanks.
