Which board did you try it on? The V8a will include native audio for 889a's. Once released I am giving it a spin.
A year ago, Kaido had his chosen 3 mb's to use for a hackintosh. Which new boards replaced those 3? IF a newbie was to build a hack, what would they use now?
Hi all
I finally decided to try to go snow. On a new drive I gave it a spin. Had the bonjour issue which the R1000 kext took care of, but I ran into a roadblock with 10.6.3. I used the HQ-A method (Lifehacker/stellerola) with mosslacks DSDT. Ran fine on 10.6. After the combo 10.6.3 it boots to...
ok, I tried it again. On a system running 10.5.7 with 500GB of data and applications I ran the lifehacker installer. (rig 2) No bios changes from kaidos guide. (excep the boot order) Updated in about 40 minutes. Running fine with 2 exceptions. No bonjour, Machine is in a room with several G4's...
yes, thats the guide. I left my bios settings the way kaido prescribed and the onboard nics work. The system prefs show 4 built in ethernet ports, i believe en5 and en6 were the 2 I was using. I only used it for a half hour, but both nics definitely worked. Now on the bios FA machine, i used it...
Check out this custom installer by Conti, I read about on prasys blog

Looks nifty, but you need to know what hardware you have.
I decided to try the lifehacker guide. Followed the directions on my ud3p's and they work! Both nic's are full duplex. (I took the system to work and was on 2 networks at the same time with no trouble) audio is fine. the only issue was error 35 UUID. I added the 802.11 text to the networkspref...
I tried the lifehacker procedure on my Q6600 machine. Very easy and GUI. Built in NIC works as well as audio. I do get the UUID 35 error though, So it is close!
I think you have a leopard ghost in that house. Recall the 10.5.8 mystery audio fix. Install the kexts, it worked. Remove them, and it still worked! Sounds like your ready for a hackintosh edition of ghost hunters.
Congrats! It wont be long and this process will be as simple as before. I went to best buy to buy snow and the goofs dont stock it. Thats a special order! Ridiculous.
Ok, So it seems SL is a leap forward with the 64 bit OS, besides an optimization. I'm buying the family pack and will install when the new guides hit the street!
