Morpheus disappeared strangely

Booting harddrive=>slave=>cd-problem

I installed Maxtor 20 gt harddrive by copying my old harddrive in it.2 problems : bios finds new harddrive only as primary slave, computer starts/works ok but now cd-r does not read cd:s.Motherboard is old Zida, no bios update(?)available. Ide settings are auto in bios. I have tried jumpers in...

Win98 reinstall=>black box

I reformatted my harddisk,everything went ok fdisk,format,scandisk. Now when I try to install win98, after setup wizard comes black box(about 2X3") in middle of screen and that's it, computer freezes. Computer is same as before formatting.Any ideas?

Serious IDE 2 problem

I tried other cable, no help. I had factory made Siemens Celeron 433, don't remember name of motherboard, all other parts are same and worked in old machine, it still can be lack of power. Power plugs are ok. I have to check that.Any other ideas?

Serious IDE 2 problem

I have problem with Abit BH-6 motherboard. It does not find cd-players from IDE 2, or it does, but wrong. I have Samsung player and HP9100 CD/RW. BIOS finds cd's like "Scmsu&g", so spelled wrong. Win98 finds cd's, reads size(MB) of disk inside and nothing else. Cable is ok, Auto option in Bios...
