Hi again tmac8,
Yeah .. bad MB's which are new.. that really does S**k :(
Call your supplier & get a return authorization # before you send it back.
Quality parts suppliers should replace it for free. :)

Hi Mat,
unfortunately Norton Ghost isn't all that user friendly OR bug free.
Just put you new drive back in the computer as slave.. then.. reformat & partition it..then.. install WinXP to the new partition..then transfer your data (without rebooting).. you know the rest.
Hope this helps

hI tmac8,
run Memtest with your ram in slots # 2 & 3..if both ram cards are OK..
then .. it's the BUS on the motherboard OR the outside chance it's some weird problem with your ram speed.... which might be changable.
Hope this helps

Great that I helped you solve the problem !!
re:
..sometimes multimeter test will be "ok" ..but the cable will only "short out" when you put a real "load" on it or put it in a certain position. I know it's one of those "freaky" things..but it happens sometimes.

Hi ,
It's possible that its a heat problem..but if you blasted it with a big room fan & the problem still happened..well..it's not likely..just to make sure.. you can get temp monitoring programs on the web..just do a search.. there's lots of good ones.
More likely, some other hardware part is...
Hi Muse,
from what you describe.. it's POSSIBLE the soundcard just "died".
If
doesn't fix it...then.. test the sound card in another computer.
When adapter cards "die"..sometimes they give you a warning ..sometimes not.
Hope this is helpful

hI ,
MAYBE a bad coax cable connector. get a new one..they're easy to replace.
If its the computer connector.. sometimes they have a "retaining"/lockdown screw OR it just screws in itself..sometimes in the opposite direction that the coax cable screws in. You might need to hold it down while...
Hi Quadriflax,
Some CD/DVD-RW drives just wont work properly in the slave position on an IDE cable.
If you have it in the materposition & it still won't work properly..then..its usually either the CD?DVD drives "driver" programs OR its a dud drive. Since the drive worked recently (?) in...
Hi ,
re-install the monitor drivers first..they shouldn't be "stuck" in default mode...then.. Have windows find the "new hardware". Then re-install the Nvidia drivers if necessary.
Hope this is clear

HI CarlKillerMiller,
Juice Box is right.
Your other option would be to install you "corrupted" drive into another friends computer..then.. use CD to get you data..then.. format the corrupted drive(using a XP bootdisk)..then..re-instal XP on it.
Hope this helps
