Great service and prices. It was OEM and not pre-tested, but so many people bought chips from them with great success, so thats why I did it also :)
The great thing with the c2 is that you can use your old PROVEN 440 BX Chipset board. As others have...
Bren, get the C533, I paid $138 for the msi slocket, golden orb and chip shipped. It runs at 896Mhz, stable at 1.65v.
The Duron is great, but for many of us low budget bx users the c2 isn't bad at all...
Brooks, you can get a Direct Port NoS Setup for 40-50hp. Each Nozzle is plumbed to the intake manifold and injects the correct ammount of fuel and nos. If installed correctly it will be very reliable. Should get your Accord to do Low 7's 0-60mph for about $600-$800 or so.
Good point Greg. Wow didn't know there power consumption's were so different. Even non-oc'd the Mx 2 seems to be about 10% ahead in most bench's.
However I guess if I want the MX 2 I'll have to wait at least 2 months before stores have them in stock ?
The price on the SDR's are pretty low nowadays (~$125). I have a Voodoo 3 on a c2@896mhz right now and playing some games at 1280x1024 can be a tad slow.
Most benchmarks show the SDR and MX neck to neck. So what benefits does the MX have ? More overclockability, smaller die size, etc ?. Trying...
Whoops, thanks for pointing that out CCC ;)
Yeah but I have to run at 65HZ at 2048x1536, but hey at least it runs at that res, how many other 19"'s can do that :P
