I was wondering if anybody knows what the v1006 bios actually does. The Asus site says fixed sata hdd detection to Nvidia chipset. What does that mean? My 1005 bios is detecting the sata hdd just fine....

Does overclocking the AGP bus help at all? I was under the impression that running agp/pci/sata devices at above spec is a risky endevour. RMA's shouldn't be a problem. and they might give you a revision 1.05 board with 2.8vdimm

Overclocking 6800gt and WoW?

has to be the video card. once I run it stock the game never drops a beat. Rock solid stable no matter how many time i minimise to desktop to surf or chat on IM. Anybody with any experience with this similar problem?

Overclocking 6800gt and WoW?

So far this is the only game that I can't run overclocked. I was able to do Far cry, Guild wars, etc at 400/1.06 rock stable, but with both 61.77 and 61.9X drivers, the client crashes unless I run at stock. Anybody able to overclock while playing WoW? Maybe its the difference in 2d/3d...

running xp pro x64 edition on o/c rig

Hey Karl, I think my processor can hit 2.4ghz too, (it's a late claw) I was wondering if you had to set HTT to 3 times? Is there a way for me to get 64bit winXP? I'd love give that os a try.

AMD64 Hypertransport 754 vs 939

Okay, so for 754 is 800mhz and 939 its 1000mhz. I know the nf250gb chipset supports 1000mhz, but say it's in a 754mb like the asus k8n-e, if you were to overclock your cpu on 4xhtt at 230, and htt runs at 920mhz, would this be out of spec for the motherboard? The chipset supports that speed...

Thanks for the insights guys! Okay, time to run FTT. I've been using blend and my system seems relatively stable, but maybe it's not stressing the cpu enough.

Which Prime95 Test to run?

Hi, I've read many forum posts about running Prime95 to test o/c stability, but none have specifically mentioned which torture test is the best test for stability. I've run memtest86 and I know my ram checks out fine, almost 8hrs with no errors, but I'd like to make sure my cpu is stable...

PFC or no PFC..that is the question

I have a Thermaltake silentpurepower 480watt with no pfc. I seem to be getting some fluctuation on my 12v rail under full load. It goes from 11.87-11.6 in my bios readings. Does anybody else use this psu and what experiences have you had with it? Does the PFC make a huge difference? I'm just...

Are people shying away from Ballistix?

I've hit 470mhz ddr with my ballistix at 2.5-2-2-10-1T on my A64 rig. I am running them at 2.7v, .1 underspec because my motherboard can't hit 2.8v(darn asus!) I believe at 2.8v, I could probably hit 2-2-2-10-1T. They work beautifully. I think pairing the ram up with a good stable...

Crucial can do a cross ship. They'll ship you a part first, charge your credit card, and then remove the charge once they receive your shipment. It might not tbe both dimms that are messed up. Test them individually and you should be able to get by on 1 dimm till the replacement arrives.

Hey Jeff, Your 3200+ is an NC right? I guess we're getting about the same overclocks then, because mine is a claw and I can get it up to 2300mhz. I'm pretty sure my cpu can't hit 2500mhz, because no 754 CH cpu is even rated 2500mhz, highest would be the 3700+ which clocks in at 2400mhz...
