everything is at stock speed.I also doubt it may be a psu issue but cant really afford a new one rite now unless its abs necessary

first of all thx for ur replies. Here( i mean in india)the dealers are almost reluctant to sell a quality PSU. they will give u good cpu,ram ,mobo etc but when it comes to psu they,for some unknown reason,tries to sell u a cheap one. for instance when i had a 300 watt psu i went to a shop...

thx for the reply. anyway i have a 512 MB memory stick and a 128 MB one.And i have disabled onboard video from bios and have removed any trace of ATI video drivers using dc pro. and yes i have tried as many as 7 drivers starting from the 60 series ,70 series and now the 81.95 official one.

update:I recently found out what the error message was.ok,it ran something like this: "the display driver was stuck in an infinite loop" so u guys still think its a power issue?

Psu may be a factor but then again it would have affected all the games that i play. However in some of the most graphics intensive games (like QUAKE 4,DOOM 3,FARCRY,F.E.A.R) i havent noticed this kind of freezing n the gameplay was very smooth.That makes me think its not a power related problem.

cd-writer not working!

recently my cd writer have stopped working.Whenever i try to burn a cd,it goes upto 4-5% n then shows the message "power calibration error".PLS HELP!!

CS:S BSOD

it may be a power issue,bad ram or overheating.N it may also happen that u resolved all these problems n still get the BSOD. this is a problem thats bugging many people(including me)n its more like a nvidia problem(some ati cards also have this though).u may google n find many forums about this...

**Official** Video Card Drivers Rev2

Does any of these drivers completely(at least ,almost) eliminate the infinite loop problem? I am currently playing GTA:SA n getting this prob rather frequently. Currently using 66.31 driver as the 71.89 drivers made matters worse.
