Has anyone here had to deal with public folders in Exchange '07?

Vista Versus 16 bit Games

x86-64, when run in long mode, will not let you thunk to real mode. Limitation of the architecture itself. Use DOSBox, VPC, etc. to emulate a 16bit environment.

So you've changed the Share permissions (and NTFS it sounds like you covered)? 2K3 creates share permissions with Everyone: RO by default.

It depends on the amount of address space allocated to other devices on your system. Video card address space is not the only thing that starts at the 4GB barrier and moving on down.

$500 to Verisign (or cheaper, elsewhere) isn't much of a hurdle. Or privately create a CA and distribute the Root Authority cert along with Code Signing cert with your application.

Using CrashFree BIOS 3 on P5B-E?

I know my HDD was first in the boot sequence, so I'll try that. EDIT: Even with just the DVD connected, no joy. I see the drive initialize (drive light goes on), and then nothing. I used the CD provided with the mobo. EDIT x2: Pulled the board, off to Newegg...

Very little data is going to go directly from HDD -> video. Most of it (should) be cached in physical RAM. Plus, PCI had other limitations, like being a bus, not a point to point topology.

Using CrashFree BIOS 3 on P5B-E?

How do I use this feature? Supposedly you just place the ROM (I think it has to be named P5BE.ROM) on the root of a CD-R, USB keychain, or floppy (don't have a floppy drive) and it will pick up the ROM and reflash it. No such luck here. I've heard conflicting reports about needing a PCI video...

Vista "upgrade" to Win XP 64

You have to format, no choice. As well, you'll have to reformat when going from XP64 -> anything else. There is no upgrade path.

Confusion about the EAX situation in Vista

EAX does not provide sound positioning. These are, and have always been provided by DirectSound. Marketing for EAX will say different, but all you need to do is some research at MSDN to verify that DS does provide audio positioning. EAX is really nothing more than reverb effects for games...
