Recent build, constant BSODs

looks like you've got the problem solved, but anyway you can use easybcd to add a boot entry for a memtest iso file you place on your harddrive someplace. also the program 'who crashed' can be used for elementary bsod dump analysis

lock hide disable partition drive from Windows

Is there some way to do what it says in title? Basically, I have couple hard drives, (but the case would apply for partitions also.) One of them I encrypted fully, so the partition shows up as unformatted, or raw, from an OS. The other drive is unencrypted, and each drive has its own OS...

req. advice for moving desktops across country

Should I disassemble and package the hard drives with me to carry in hand-baggage and send everything else over with some padding in checked? How do I package hard drives? I have like 6. I could ship it by truck or something but that's the only thing i'd have to ship, not that I have much...

possibly a powersupply problem. you could try removing the battery and running it straight off of the ext. power adaptor, if that's possible with your laptop. (It should be easy to remove the battery, should be indicated as so on the backside of the laptop.) if you get the same problem, you...

Popping/slight crackle after latest Win 7 update

it's possibly an issue with the drivers. you could try to fix it by reverting to a preupdated state where it didn't happen by uninstalling the win7 updates via the control panel, or do a system restore to a restore point prior to the win7 updates that caused the issue...or search for driver...

Thanks,I was thinking of this possibility as well. In any case, I disabled legacy USB support, it didn't crash on the test that I did. I did only one test, and it finished 3 passes, so i guess it could have still been a crash, and it had just randomly happened to work that time. Or that those...

Looks like disabling legacy usb support in the mb bios resolved the issue. this was on an i7 build, btw.

Running memtest after setting the memory timing as specified and somewhere during the first pass memtest appears to be halted but the '+' sign next to the memtest title in the upper left continues to blink.. Is there some significance? (If it was a complete halt wouldn't the plus sign itself...
