How ironic that beside the native americans (less than 1% of the current population) ALL other USA citizens are (descendants off) immigrants. IMO it is appalling how the US government is treating the current immigrants.

Samba help - Allow users to create but not delete files

The downside would be that files can't be changed anymore.... I get the feeling that that still should be an option. Maybe you can introduce a share recycle bin so deleted items can be retrieved again?

Question Any Works type applications for Linux?

Why look for a Works replacement when you can have a full blown productivity suite like Libreoffice? I consider this a retorical question.. :)

Hi @ultimatebob NethServer has something different than webmin. However, it is a webbased UI. In contrary to webmin are all different parts within NethServer connected with each other and secure, in a way that you can not break things through the NethServer servermanager as you can with webmin...

Get Chrome, then you get Google spyware.... I would opt for Midori browser as backup....

Writing ISOs to USB flash drives?

As suggested by @mxnerd: go with etcher! It is multiplatform and works amazingly well. I never have seen a failed install on a thumbdrive.

What is (are) your favorite desktop environment(s)?

If it comes to looks: by far KDE, but even on quite capable laptops (4th gen i5, 8GB RAM, GForce 1050M, 500GB SSD) it just feels slugish (tested with OpenSuSE) Currently I am running Fedora29 Gnome, but I think I would prefer XFCE when it comes to usability.... quite light with a ton of options.
