What upgrade options are there for a 9800 Pro owner that DON'T cost 400 bucks?

X800XLs are already going down in price, last week they were $400, now there selling for as low as $370, in 2 months or whenever you decide to buy, I doubt it would be hard to find one for $300.

Recommendation needed on new vid card

please stop saying ATM, it annoys me. I would save up for a 6800GT, or a 6800Nu, but remember, its not certain it will work. What happened to your pro? Also, You could save up a bit, and get an X800 Pro w/ vivo and flashmod it to XT-PE speeds.

The total failure of SLI

I actually am Getting the MSI ATI Express 200, because its the only micro otx board O've found, that also has PCI-E, and is Socket 939. Since Im getting an Aria case, I need a Matx, but PCI_E Shuttles are to expensive ($500, cheapest ove found) whcih isnt worth it for a case, PSU and mobo.

6800 ultra not feeling satisfied with performance vs 9700 pro

People who judge cards by the benchmarks annoy me... ANYHoo, It is probably a cpu bottleneck, I would get a new mobo, and a A64 3200+, or 3500+

Keep my 9800 Pro? Or upgrade to 6600GT?

I wouldnt get a 6600GT even if you plan to SLI them, seeing as how a single 6800GT would beet them You said you have an AGP Mobo? Get a single 6800GT. Or an X800pro with vivo, then flash it to XT-PE.

Would you trade a 6800 Ultra for a X850 XTPE ?

Im just gonna get an XL, since I upgrade rarely, I wanna get a cheapish card, that will still give me great performance. Then, when The newest of the new cards come out next year, after the first Unreal Engine 3 game comes out, Ill spend $600+, and live with that.

Most Beautiful game made?

I dont like Doom3s graphics. Sure the lighting looks fantasmic, But the models=Poo, Th textures=Plastic, and it dont have much going for it. I like Half Life 2 because it looks real. Then again, the Unreal Engine 4 tops them all. (*IMO)
