did you update the bios? i have an antec sonata and its known to run a little hot (in exchange for silence) and i idle at 44c. the newest bios is 1.4 but i still have 1.3 on mine. i just downloaded everest and speedfan and they work fine in reporting temps.
i went to mainboard information under information modules: for usb controllers 1-4 it says usb 1.1 controller and for usb controller 5 it says usb 2.0 controller. maybe sandra isn't reporting the right thing so i'll take your word for it. thanks for all your help.

I just built a new computer with an amd 64 3000+, soltek k8t939-pro, 1GB ram, and 9600XT. I noticed this problem when i was playing madden 2005. the default setting for the game was 1024x768 and i had a lot of choppiness in the sound/video. so i changed the resolution and the problem was...
