I just got an 8RDA3I from Newegg rev3.1 and it has a coax digital out port where one of the COM ports would normally be. The manual that came with the board (rev3.0 11/06/03) is for 8RDA3 boards and shows the coax dig out port as a standard feature as opposed to (optional).
My question is does...
I just got a new Epox 8RDA+ board (A1/C1). Windows and everything installed fine so I decided to try my hand at overclocking. I got to 2000 MHz @200 FSB at default 1.5v on a 1800+ DLT3C 0308 SPMW. Memory timings were at 2-3-3-6 (Geil PC3500) at default voltage (2.63v I think). Prime95 was...
OK I broke down and bought some Geil (how exactly is that pronounced? guile, gale?) PC3500 dual channel RAM (1GB from newegg). My 8RDA+ that was RMA should arrive around the same time so I can test my 1800+ next week. I've only got stock cooling right now b/c I'm waiting for the Aero 7+, which...
I assume that since the OEM versions are listed as being Rev. B at Newegg, then the Retail versions are also Rev. B, but exact week is by the luck of the draw.
On the 1800+ OEM it is listed as being DLTC3 (1.5v), but not Rev. B (I assume they're all Rev. B). I ordered a retail 1800+ about a...
So where can you buy twinmos winbond RAM (in the US)? Newegg doesn't seem to have it, or am I missing something? And is it the best bang for your buck? I was thinking about getting Geil. I want to be able run it at least 200-225MHz at the most aggressive timings possible without spending a...
Also does anyone know where to get the Coolermaster Aero 7+? It may not be out yet. It has an 80mm fan, whereas the plain Aero 7 has a 70mm fan (who makes 70mm fans?). Excaliburpc sells just the fan for $12.99, which isn't bad, but I think I'd rather just have the whole package (w/front and...
I was really glad to see this topic b/c I just got an 1800+ from newegg. Code is:
AXDA1800DLT3C 9570196281001
JIUHB 0308 SPMW
I was going to get a 1700+ retail when people were reporting receiving 310s from newegg, but they sold out. Figured I'd have better chance of getting good stepping...
I'm getting all kinds of errors. Windows will not start correctly (tried two different hard drives) and it won't even get through a repair (keeps freezing at some point). The cpuburn program is from [L=here]http://users.ev1.net/~redelm/[L], I ran the k7 burn for only a few seconds in windows...
ok, wtf is "BAD_POOL_CALLER"? it's an error I get from windows. it's not starting from a different windows install now. this one on a different hard drive.
ok, now I'm starting to get a little worried. when I tried to repair windows, it freezes after selecting the installation to repair at 3% once, then tried again and froze at 6%. I'm going to try repair a bit more before I give up, but will a format of this drive definitely fix all problems or...
I am running cheap kingston valueram PC2100 CL2.0, but memtest86 checked out fine at 150 FSB. I ran after the CPU-burn reboot, so since memtest86 doesn't run from windows, there were no problems. no mem errors after one complete pass. I'm pretty sure it was the agp/pci bus that f*cked things...
weird stuff is goin on. I get error msg even when trying to start recovery console. I have gotten rc to start before and chkdsk froze. also I've since seen the welcome screen, but it restarts when I click to login. error msg says various stuff like try safe mode (which I haven't done yet)...
