All I can say is you WILL end up buying more stuff, connecting more stuff, trying to figure out HOW to connect stuff and more. I can only say, plan wisely. You will need good Zigbee or Z-wave or WiFi coverage all around. If not, you'll start running into issues.

How are you finding the response time with this?

Maybe it will, maybe it won't. I read all those Nest rumors and what I gathered was there was one rumor, one media source published it, and then all the other ones just copied and made a big fuss about it. Then the "anonymous" Nest engineer that all of a sudden recalled his post. Then the Revolv...

Can't really say. It's not in the Wiki, but that doesn't mean it doesn't work. Monoprice Z-wave stuff usually tend to pair with Wink. They are the same as the Linear/GoControl/2Gig. Please do let us know if you go for it.

Not that I know of. So far the GE Bluetooth bulbs only work with their own app, I believe.

I'm glad it has worked for you. It has worked for many people as well, you just usually don't tend to hear from the people that are happy, because they don't hang around in forums. And it is good that some people here (and the Facebook's group as well), post good things about the hub. It can't...

Those sensors are regular occupancy sensors. They use a PIR sensor to turn on and off the switch, but they do not have any connected protocol, i.e. Z-wave, Zigbee, Lutron ClearConnect, etc. So no, they do not work with Wink.

I personally consider every time I need to activate a light switch a fail of my HA system. With Wink it was that I had time enough to get across a whole room and turn the light switch manually, before the Robot would kick in. With ST is when it decides to start acting out and for some reason it...

True that Echo is the master of all the HA. It is very fast and convenient when turning on/off lights. Problem is, even if I fill every room with an Echo Dot, I would just feel silly going all over the house and saying "turn on XXX", and then "turn off XXX". That's what motion and contact...

This is a wise approach. Given the update speed that Amazon has with the Echo, I wouldn't be surprised to see more and more devices added to the list. While both Wink and ST have quirks and hiccups, Alexa has never given me a headache (given that it understands you well).

I'll have to agree with IndyColtsFan, here. Wink is not Apple. It is not even a close comparison. Even at Apple's lowest point in history, when Motorola was still making those hideous Mac towers, it still had a name. Wink is the entire opposite. It was a startup from within a startup. Wink could...

Indeed. She is a nice lady and everything, but I just can't fathom the whole approach. I mean, the only way to get a spokeperson from them is to be part of a closed FB group. Exactly this. How that guy managed to get so many funds from investors is beyond my understanding. Even when watching...

It's like we both frequent the same online places and came to the same conclusion! LOL. Seriously, though, I was reluctant with ST because of the lack of Nest support, because I enjoy getting the discounts from the home insurance, rebates and all the Works with Nest programs, but I guess using...

This. Exactly this. Whenever I setup a new Android device, it asks me about anonymous data and whatnot, and I always click yes. They give me free e-mail, maps, browser, etc., I give them some data. But Wink's train of though is just unnerving. I actually can't justify keeping a Wink hub...
