Video card woes

So, I guess Driver Cleaner needs to be run in Safe Mode to completely do its job. I still had a few nVidia driver files left in system32. Hope this helps someone one day.

my computer wont start up correctly.

Can you boot into safe mode? I'm no expert but you may have done something funny to your hard drive by killing the power like that.

(Bump) Also, I realized that I never found or changed the AGP Transfer Rate in the first place; a note I'd written myself on the piece of paper with all the settings made me think I had.

RAID disappeared from Windows

Hey, thanks for the reply, amending this thread was actually on my to-do list...after poking around the list of trouble tickets on AOpen's site I found out that they've pulled the R1.09 BIOS because its SATA is screwed up somehow. I flashed back to R1.08 and that solved my problem. But thanks...

RAID disappeared from Windows

I updated my motherboard's BIOS to 1.09 and now when I log on to Windows, I'm asked to install drivers for my RAID controller and my G: (RAID 1) doesn't show up in My Computer. I went to Disk Management and the drives aren't even there. When booting, the RAID screen shows up and seems to...

Vonage + Apache

So I run Apache on my PC. Since I got Vonage, and my internet connection goes through my new Linksys VoIP router, it's not working. I get 401 errors. How can I set up my router (which I know how to log in to) so that it will let Apache through and let people download from me via HTTP? Thanks.

X-Fi XM rear speakers sound funny

Stereo Surround doesn't make anything come out the rear speakers. I think what you guys are saying is that it's doing what it's supposed to be doing, and when I play actual 5.1 data it will sound right. Correct me if I'm wrong...it makes sense, except when I used my onboard AC'97 or my crappy...

OK, well I'll have to take your word for it since I don't really know anything about CMSS. Do you know if there's a way to get 5.1 without CMSS? I had the latest drivers but then I installed some software off the CD, which might have installed the older drivers. So I'll try that. Thanks.

X-Fi XM rear speakers sound funny

So I just got an X-Fi XtremeMusic and hooked it up to my Dell 5.1 (from woot.com, I don't have a Dell) speakers. When playing music, the sound coming out of the rear speakers sounds distorted, almost like it is getting the signal for the subwoofer. If I switch the 3.5mm jacks for the center/sw...

Is my video card dead?

Well I haven't had this problem since (possibly) plugging the power cable into my mobo properly...I want to avoid buying new bits if possible, because when I upgrade my video card it will probably be to PCI-E which means buying a new motherboard, and I think it would be a bit stupid to buy a new...
