I'm also curious. Last time I heard that AMD was evaluating if StrixHalo could be on N3 or not. Yet no further informations from old sources.
If it's on N3E I think it would be worth waiting for its DT version.

I wouldn't judge this is a Rocketlake-like launch, but this looks more like a terrible design choice. 3nm node advantage almost disappear on ARL. Don't tell me this is still going to happen on post ARL / future lakes.
Well I'm not professional in tuning, but I saw some enthusiasts trying to boost ARL with extreme tuning like memOC, turning on/off settings in BIOS, switching perf profile in windows, OC the ring, and E-cores above 5Ghz, you might have good results but the power consumption is much higher as a...
David huang did SPECint on ARL and said L3 latency is the most to blame which has already been there in Meteorlake as well, and from my knowledge it's also be a root cause of poor performance in gaming and latency sensitive applications. I would assume that high L3/memory latency are the...
I presume there's little to no scheduling issue, and more of it is memory/latency issue.
If you read Microsoft Office and Adobe ranking by TPU, you can find it could be easily diagnosed as MS/Adobe test suites are memory sensitive benchmarks, and it's memory/latency issue which leads to poor...

9800X3D and 9600 are C0 stepping
Even AMD hasn't decided it yet. They had tested various option in lab and successful, like dual layer Vcache and dual CCD Vcache, but nonetheless would increase the cost.
AMD is waiting for N3(E) for StrixHalo, and would be expensive for sure.
2 reason I guess: 1, there's no competition currently. 2, AMD is also afraid of silicon degrading which happened at Raptorlake.
This just reminds me of something that I heard few weeks ago. There were some problems in whatever pre-production or retail silicon, that cripple performance a bit. Now it seems if thats the case, I guess this is not a coincidence. Maybe the root cause is in the bios, if thats silicon level...
V$Zen5 is very possible having similar frequency as Zen5, also dual V$CCD option is still possible. Yield of V$ improve quite a lot.
Although September is unlikely.
Zen 4 V-cache is 5 months later than Zen 4 original. If there should have been any 'response' to Intel then Zen4 V-cache should be 2022 thing.
AMD could only do what they can do, nothing could be done in a hurry.
If you mentioned Intel, I just feel strange I haven't seen any arrowlake QS in the...
Strange. I didn't hear any 9000X3D being under mass production. Let's see what will happen. 9000 entered mass production almost half a year earlier than computex show.
