The info you point to is very helpful..thanks. My scanner is not listed among those which will be getting future support on Epson's own website. I would probably still have to buy a new SCSI card though because the Adaptec AVA-2902E than came with the scanner is not on Microsft's list....nor...

Trouble using 'Backup' in Win98SE

I'm afaid that leaves me none the wiser. I'm not a programmer, I like to tinker with hardware and build systems but as far as altering code and dos commands I'm pretty clueless.

I recently added a second hard drive for backup and I had hoped to use the 'Task Scheduler' in Win98SE to set automatic, unattended weekly backups. So far I haven't been able to get it to work properly. The sheduled backup works fine with regard to 'Task Scheduler' opening the 'Backup' utility...

You can't go wrong with Dell, I've had mine almost 4 years and Dell continues to give excellent support on it. For example; I recently had to replace the power button assembly on the front panel which was no longer on warranty. I had to pay the $8 for the part but Dell shipped it free of charge...

Thanks Thalasi. I guess I would better to go with a 'boxed retail' version as well right? Seems to me I saw on here or elsewhere that they generally overclock better than OEM..something to do with having to pass more stringent quality control tests because of the full warranty given with retail.
