Thanks for posting the codes. I took the 76-215 exam today and passed. The computer I took the exam on crashed at least 9 times while taking the exam. The tech had to call VUE several times to get the test to run. I was there for almost three and a half hours but at least 1 1/2 hours were...

AWESOME!!!! Thanks I just ordered two and shipped them to a friend in Canada. I guess it pays to lives in a border town like Buffalo, NY after all. I had to pay all the Canadian taxes and a $50 shipping fee but for $328 Canadian for 2 units I can't complain at all. Thanks, great post.

Kevin, Just trying to help. According to the people I spoke to at Adelphia they also binds the MAC address of what ever is attached to the cable modem. I don't know what RR does, just thought they might of changed to similar policy. When you find out what the problem was post the solution...

Help! Need router w/more ports...or something :/

Di-link's 714P has the ability to forward 20 ports or ranges of ports. I believe most of D-Link's products have this same feature. D-Link's and SMC's products if I am not mistaken are OEM'd from the same sources so I would imagine SMC's would also suport using ranges.

Jack I have not seen RR's service but I figured thats common practice among cable ISP's. I seen a MAC address held by Adelphia for almost an hour before it as released. I can't explain why there service didn't time out and release the address sooner. I only guessing he is having this type of...

Kevin, Road runner has proably started binding MAC address. Try unpluging the power cord from the cable modem for 10 to 15 minutes to let Road Runners service time out and release the MAC address. Then turn on your router first then plug in the modem. Adelphia's Power Link Service works this...

ktwebb post got pretty much all you will need. One last thing, get your self a couple of lighting arreseters. Hate to lose your hardware especially since you'll proabably need to eleavate the antenae due to a lighting strike.

That is correct, when installing from an existing Windows OS, Win2k will give you two options 1) Upgrade existing OS 2) Perform a fresh new installation (recommended) So you should be all set just performing from a shared networked drive.

If all you want to do is a clean installation you can do that from a simple shared networked drive. For a RIS sever you need a Win2k Server running Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and RIS services. You also need either a PXE bootable NIC or you have to create a RIS client boot disk, which requires...

There are a couple of ways to do it. If the laptop has an OS already installed, Ex Win98, then just put the I386 directory from Win2k on a shared networked drive. Then from the laptop, install a NIC and connect to the networked drive. Navigate to the I386 directory and run the Winnt32.exe fine...
