Do you think the 8800 GT 512 price will drop in January?

FWIW, I've been watching the EVGA vanilla 8800GT 512MB at Newegg. There seem to be two SKUs for it, one with a bundled game and one without, but anyway 1-2 shipments of it ago, Newegg was charging $259.99, but the last time I got an in stock notify, it was up to $269.99. I'm going to jump on...

I think I'm going to get an 8800GT over the G92 8800GTS for the following reasons: 1) Not too much improvement in performance playing brand new games at my resolution, 1680x1050 2) 8800GT accepts the Accelero S1 I already own for my old 7900GTX, 8800GTS does not 3) Price. EVGA stock...

8800GT 256mb vs 3870 512mb vs 3850 512mb

I play all my games at 1680x1050. I'd like to be able to use at least 2x FSAA and play at the highest detail settings. I have a 7900GTX stock frequency now and I'd like to upgrade. I'm willing to spend around $260 and I'm willing to wait for 8800GT pricing/availability to get down there...

Weird, repeatable XP boot hang

I just got one of these, and of numerous issues pointed out by bterrill in his well justified post, the most immediately annoying was horrible popping and crackling on the onboard audio. I fixed it by disabling all DTS options. Went away instantly, worked like a charm. Just sharing.

Nintendo DS games in Taiwan

So I'm living in Taiwan until next August and there is a cornucopia of electronics for sale on every street corner and also in huge, amazing concentrations like Guanghua Market in Taipei. I want to buy some new DS games, but I have absolutely no experience with what the language/region system...

Asus P5B-E release date?

Man, I thought I understood the C1 vs C2 differences, but now I'm hopelessly befuddled again. I'll hang on for the AT 965 recap before I spend any money :) FWIW, the P5B-E has been on sale here in Taiwan for a week or two, I think I saw it going for US$150-155, but that's a shaky recollection.

What's up with my E6400?

It looks like the IHS is curved or beveled on the sides. Is this the case with all Core 2 Duo CPUs? I've never had this CPU installed, and only ever took it out of the box this one time. Am I just seeing things? My E6400

Thanks guys, you rock. Now the only problem is that I'm living in Taiwan, "NewEgg" means over here a big collection of little vendor stalls and tiny shops in an IT park, and each one has at most 4 brands of DDR2, weird ones who don't seem like they're in the US market yet: Kingbox, Apacer, etc...

Looks really cool. Aside from potential OC-ability, what does the board offer that the 965 don't, in terms of features, layout, power system, etc.? Or is this board anticipated solely because it should OC really well?
