Well I finally got up to 4.2 on air last night with 1.2v (G3258/GIGABYTE GA-B85M-DS3H). Was able to run prime overnight. My only question is, in order to do this I had to drop my unicore down to 32, so by doing this, am I negating any effects of the overclock by running a lower unicore?
I havent tried yet. I mainly built this chaepie rig so my daughter could play minecraft without alsways using her mothers laptop. Right now I have the G3258 running at 3.8. I have 8 gigs of ram, ssd and a 560ti. Was really hoping to push more cycles out of this rig.
I am so not impressed witn my G3258/GIGABYTE GA-B85M-DS3H combo. Voltage locked at 1.2 aside. I cant even boot into windows at 3.9ghz 1.2volts. If i bump it down to 3.8 @ 1.2v I can run prime with temps in the low 70's on stock air cooling.
