I have an IBM Thinkpad T43 with a display problem. The colors are very washed out (desaturated) and the screen is very bright... blacks look gray and everything else has a white halo. This occurs outside of the OS during the splash screen, so it must be a hardware problem. I've changed out the...
Thanks for posting the coupon update. I went ahead and ordered the 8500 along with the direct wire (discount applies to both). I've been meaning to order one for quite some time, but was just waiting for a bit better deal so I could more easily justify the expense.
I've heard opinions from many...
Isn't worth it? $39? They're very stable boards, and for putting together a cheap system I think they're excellent as they have better-then-average onboard video and audio. I really don't think there's a board with more features or that's more reliable for the money.
I disagree that the Dell deals suck.
I got a 120GB S.E. WD from them for $140 about 2 months ago, Z560's for $135 when they first came out, just bought a Planar 15" LCD w/speakers for $292, not to mention several others I'm forgetting. All these prices included shipping, and were still great...
The laptops at powernotebooks.com can be upgraded for fair prices, unlike Dell...For instance, upping the hard drive by 10GB at Dell is at least $100. But for the base Inspiron 8200, I think the deal is better. Most of the laptops at powernotebooks are SXGA, I opted for the Dell Ultrasharp...
I wouldn't complain if you only get 2. If you think purchasing 8 drives is normal, why'd you use a 2nd account? Not to say it's unreasonable to do so, but we all know that Dell is somewhat shady on the really hot deals, much more for those that purchase larger quantities. I'll be happy if I get...
Guess I need to check Hot Deals more often, I missed out on this one.
I've seen the current deals at Dell, sounds like they're good for a basic notebook, but I'm looking for a system to take to LAN's. I'd like 1Ghz, 15" XGA or UXGA, GF2Go or Radeon, 56k-10/100, and DVD. Other than that, specs...
I had problems with my last 2 Western Digital drives, but this didn't stop me from getting in on this deal - even at $141.
Sometimes companies have problems with a batch of their product, or a particular model. I think all of the major hard drive manufacturers make a good product in general.
