frys b&m,: e8400 and gigabyte ge-ep43

im on a e6400 and am wondering if i should get this or just pony up more for an I5 based system. I don't like to overclock so the faster stock speed is what I'm looking for. thanks for any help. (the reason i want to upgrade is I'm bottlenecked by CPU right now while playing games like l4d).

Great Monitor...!! Now what do I do?

I caved in and ordered the evga gtx 275. This should hopefully keep me going for atleast a year or more. I will OC my CPU soon as I get that gfx card in ! Thanks all for excellent suggestions.

Great Monitor...!! Now what do I do?

I saw this great deal on the Dell 24" 2408WFP and pulled the trigger. The monitor is on its way but as you can see in my sig, my other gear may not be handle this all that well. I primarily use my computer for gaming...Left for Dead, TF2, Company of Heroes and new AAA FPS titles if they interest...

AT got a makeover?

Redesign takes away the neatly organized AT homepage into a very busy and verbose page...there needs to be more vertical spacing between different lines.

Hard disk keeps spinning up - please help

That was indeed the ticket. Thanks Radicl. For others who might run into this, you have to dig through a set of power saving settings. There is one specifically for hard drive power usage. I turned it to its most inefficient and lo and behold..no more spin up !

I have 2 IDE hard disks and 1 sata disk + 2 IDE dvd drives. I have vista ultimate on one of the IDE hard disks. Will this mobo work with such as setup?
