XP pro OEM: Activation

XP pro OEM: Activation

Hi all, How can we tell if a Windows XP installation was from an OEM CD, or a retail CD, or a Corporate edition ? (without looking at the CD) Alternatively, if we do look at the CD itself, how do we know if it is the OEM kind, or the retail, or corporate ?

quad core support for Windows ?

Thanks Stash, it seems a good time to put this dinosaur OS to rest. It served well. Most likely I will go with XP pro. Although XP is a dinosaur of its own I am not too fond of the things I hear on Vista.

quad core support for Windows ?

Hi all, It seems my Win2k pro only sees 2 of the four cores on a Q6600 intel. This brings the question: Wwhich versions of Windows out there support multicore CPUs ? Is there a way to enable win2k to see all four cores ?

While reading the manual of both boards I notice the Gigabyte BIOS features the "F12 Boot Menu" thing, whereas I do not see this in the IP35-pro. Small thing, but there was a time, or two, that I wish my old board had this instead of having to go into the BIOS. Also I see some comments like...

Corsair makes some awesome PSUs ... I used to be a PC_power_&_Cooling advocate, but ever since Corsair came out I was sold. The Corsair HX620 is fantastic ... I would go for the 520HX as well !
