Shrug, if it works for you, great. Most professional gamers won't touch it, especially CS players that usually play with a very low sensitivity. Lurking around CPL and WCG will enlighten you.
Not move slowly left and right, but very fast swipes left and right. The MX510 is rated at 40 inches per second top speed before it loses tracking. I've got both mice and I can tell you the MX1000 does NOT come close.
