Just to add a couple of things to sf dudes post. Some bios files are too large to fit on a startup disk made in the add and remove programs/ windows/start up disk. Better to format floppy in explorer and check the copy system files checkbox. Then add your bios file and the flash utility which is...
If you run the companion program that installs with your driver you can see what mode its in. Should be 5. The drive autodetects the highest mode it can support and uses it unless you change it in the bios. Hope that helps.
Theres no reason that I know of that you cant. I ran one in a bx board with a slocket. If your bios doesnt support the clock multiplier it shouldnt matter because its locked anyway. You should be able to run it at 100 mhz fsb X 8.5 =850. Ive ran mine there for 4 months now.
I have a dual boot system with win 98se and win 2k. Win 98 starts up every time but win 2k hangs at the os select screen. If I take out the Geforce2 mx and use the built in intel video, it boots just fine. It worked fine for a couple of weeks in win2k. Can anyone help?
My fault guys. I ran it again to see if I was crazy and got 6190 but at the end I realized I had last years version. I got 2000 and ran a meager 4004. :o
