If it is a downgraded ROM file, they need to specify so.
Newer version supposed to contain everything in ealier version + new change(s) .... and users need to UPGRADE (not downgrade) to newer version.
Dude, this pissed me off last night ... If new bios can be upgraded by using awdflash...
Trying to upgrade bios from 0401 to 0505 .. guess what .......
Asuck P5N-E SLI BIOS version 0505 ... freaking piece of sh****t
Screen shot for error
Don't know what the f***k Ass-suck programmers are doing .....
I am trying to upgrade the BIOS not DOWNGRADE .....
This board gave me too much headache (which I have more than enough at work...)
Anyway, I've been thinking that I would use this CPU on P5B-Dlx board .. At least I know for sure that I can get 3.7Ghz there ... :D and swap E6400 to this board ....
Oh well, so lazy now ... maybe next month...
Your RAM is rated 667MHz .. In order to get 3600MHz, your RAM has to run at 800MHz (assuming your CPU= E6600 and ratio=9).....
So, it depends on your RAM. Some 667MHz RAM (like SuperTalent, Team Group, etc) would run fine at 800MHz (or a little higher)......
good luck!
This RAM will work fine with this board. However, need to set vdimm at first boot to 1.9+v
IMO, it's a big waste if not overclock this puppy (E6600 or E6700)
With E6600, you should be able to get 3.2GHz easily.
Your RAM is rated at CAS=5. Some RAM would allow to run at lower CAS but in your case, looks like you need to set CAS to 5 ... also reduce vdimm to 2.08v or 2.17v
Try this settings: 5-4-4-13 and run Orthor again.
Those 2 apps ara not enough for stress test, John.
My system passed OCCT, 3DMark06, 05,03 and 01, PCmark 05, dual SpuerPI 32M but it failed Orthor or dual prime95.....
I think this board has a "hole" at 400FSB ....
For those of you who has problem running FSB at 400MHz, you might try to lower your FSB to 395MHz (1580 in BIOS) and set RATIO to 9 .... let see if you can get your system statble .. If it is, raise FSB by 2-5MHz at time ...
OK ... I need to popup this question .. could be a very stupid question you've ever heard ..
When testing your system with Orthor, which method do you use (SMALL FFTs, LARGE -inplace FFTs, or BLEND) ????
It is so darn weird to my freaking system .. It ran Orthor fine (BLEND) about a...
