passive cooling for GF4?

After replacing my PSU and heatsink, my copper GF4 heatsink/fan from thermaltake is by far the loudest component in my system. It seems to be louder than when I got in, and I'm wondering if I can disable the included noisy fan and just have a case fan blowing on it if that's taking a big risk...

salvaging Maxtor HDD

Can't boot into windows on either HDD

So.... do you think the problem is actually residing in the CMOS, or that's just a secondary issue?

Can't boot into windows on either HDD

I have two WD 160 GB hard drives, runnning XP professional. When IE wouldn't connect I restarted and got a string of garbage characters right before the starting windows XP screen comes up (after the IRQ"s of varioous devices were listed) and the computer just hangs with the little flashing...

detecting HDD in 98se

I put an old deathstar HD in an 98se machine as a slave. At first only one of the three partitions on the IBM was visible (only about a third of the drive). I deleted the partition in windows, hoping to refomat the whole thing at once, but now windows isn't detecting the drive at all...

Could my amp have blown my soundcard?

well, the sansui's from 1971, so it only has two prongs, it's plugged directly into the outlet where the computer is, but the coputer's on a surge protector, so it seems something must have gone back through the 3.5mm jack, but then again I know very little about these things.

plugging 2 channels into one speaker from 5.1 sub

plugging 2 channels into one speaker from 5.1 sub

I was wondering if it would be possible to hook up 2 channels from a 5.1 klipsch sub to power some bookshelf speakers using regular speaker wire. Yeah I know I could just use one channel, but in the interest of more noise.... Thanks.

Getting Pod Racer to work w/ XP Pro

Hi, Just cracked out the classic Episode 1 Racer for the first time since upgrading to XP. The opening vid clips are fine, as is the spash screen, but once I start selecting racers only certain graphics elements are visible. The background where you would normally see the racers is not...
