haha, I suppose i could have assumed that you meant 2 of the video card since you did say crossfire. Also, If you are gonna spend this much money for two video cards, you might as well get 4 gb of ram. It would probably only cost a little more. I am not a fan of dual video card setups...
Honestly I dont know tons about motherboards. I usually use ratings and the number of reviews to narrow down the parts, and then make a choice based on budget and features. That MSI board may be fine.
Its hard to say without actually looking at the machine in person, but here are some things i would try:
- reseeding the connections to the hard drive and to the IDE controller on the mobo.
- swapping the hard drive to the other IDE controller on the mobo.
