A quick search on google came up with examples of the same error message showing up when starting some other programs as well. However, they all seem to lead back to the same problem:

Right-click on My Computer -> Manage -> expand System Tools -> expand Shared Folders -> click on Shares
This will work in XP and 2k, not sure about other Windows versions though.
In my experience, random shutdowns tend to be caused by power supply or overheating issues. I would do as newbiepcuser suggested and see if you can get a hold of another power supply and try it out in your machine.
