Support developers that made good software? Especially when it so happens here that there are no comparable alternatives, and the OP too agreed that it worked well for him. $20 is nothing when stretched out over the time that you'll be using the software. $20 of gas also doesn't get you very far...

I have thought of doing what cleverhandle described but I was hoping that I can get away with it :P I didn't know that cron runs its own environment so that bit helps a lot.

Like many people have said, use one of those JS libraries. It's fine to roll your own stuff, but these libraries are a lot more reliable to use in production since they are much better tested.

Took me 60 hours but that's because I took many breaks in between and needed to run around a lot to remember what I needed to do. Beat the final boss but I'm sure I'm still missing a ton of things.
