Previously I was running a 8800gt 512mb card on a windows 7 32-bit machine with 4 gigs of ram. My understanding of the win 7 32-bit architecture was it only supports 4 gigs of ram and ram available was total - video memory = total usable. Hence, 4 gigs - 512mb video ram = 3.5 usable in system...
Before I had a e6320 with GA-965p-DS3 running at 400 FSB. FSB changes worked fine! I even got up to around 430 FSB. However when I got my new e8400 and flashed my bios with the latest bios update, I found tht my system would restart at bios booting when I changed the FSB! Stock for the e8400 is...
Yes! I've Oc'ed processors before. The same ram and mobo have been at 400mhtz for my e6320 for months until my e8400. The ram definitely works! The only thing I've upgraded is the processor!
I got a e8400, upgraded from e6320. I KNOW my mobo and memory could handle overclocking cause I was doing 430 FSB and 1000+ mhz for my ram. I ran my 1.86 e6320 at 3.0ghz for almost a year without problems.
Then comes my new e8400 at 333x9=3ghtz. I CAN'T OVERCLOCK IT! Freezes at bios startup...
Hi! I just bought a new e8400 to replace my old e6320.
However when I popped in the cpu, my mobo bios temp read it at 49C! This is weird because I had ran my e6320 (1.86ghz, 65nm) at 3ghz @ 1.287V. With my Thermaltake big typhoon, it was always at 25C idle and 35C load.
The e8400 is native...
