What kind of "streaming", your own content or the Netflix kind? Streaming (Netflix, Youtube kind) BR play can be had for ~$150-$250 or a PS3 for $300. The lowest end CPU/MB combo's over the AVS forums (noted in a previous post, they are excellent) would run you at least ~$200. The midrange...
Also, if you're not locked into Intel, AMD Phenom II x6 1090T looks like a really nice unit for ~$300.

From what I've read many are OC'ing quite nicely to 4GHz. With 6 threads possible, this could make a excellent rendering computer.
No problem, glad to help.
I just upgrade from Sony Movie Studio 9 to version 10. It was a huge improvement. Version 9 had a lot of problems using the HD 60p content from the Panasonic camcorder. About half of the times I tried to convert it into a movie file the program would crash. I...
Where did you purchase it from? Any chance or returning it?
Having said that I think will still be OK.

It has a "stuck" senor test. I don't know if you will be able to get a RMA for a single stuck senor, but I kind of doubt it.
Not sure why the OP didn't return back to this thread, but just an FYI to those still posting. It looks like he has already built his new gaming rig using a Q9400.

It's not as much about "supporting" RAID and MS is wanting people you use the "Drive Extender" and "Duplication" features within WHS. This works out to a kind of software RAID 1 (mirrored) array without the need for special hardware or the need for identical capacity harddrives. If you go to...
According to this short article at Extremetech this is not a deal but a overall price drop by Microsoft.

Just to add to the discussion,
There is a Black Edition 5000+ at XS doing 3.7GHz on air. http://www.xtremesystems.org/f...howthread.php?t=162738
on edit: there's also one on H-OCP doing 4.0GHz on dry ice. http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1239834
You did know that at stock the Q6600 is 2.4GHz and the E6750 is 2.66GHz...
So most benchmarks at stock speed (which don't take advantage of the 2 extra cores) will favor the E6750.
Check out this thread at xtremesystems on quad core overclocking...
