freeware image slicer?

hey all, I don't need anything fancy, just something that can load an image, then slice it up into rectangles, similar to how freehand or fireworks does it but free. any suggestions are appreciated!

Why can't my psu handle this?

never mind, it turns out in the end that the problem was that I am an idiot. the clicking was from the failed IDE drive, but man it sounded like it was coming from the psu. i put in another drive and i'm now good to go. now if I only knew what to do with that failed drive :( but also :)

is there free software to do this?

well what i am looking for is something that runs on my own machine that will periodically connect to an ftp and download files that are different/updated since the last check. does such software exist?

just had a big server failure luckly i had recently done backups, but is there a program I can run that will automatically download the latest changes to a website and database (my server doesn't do this)? thanks!
