Bad floppy

Thanks for the reply, but I done all those, it would appear a combination of disk and drive causing the probem. So what is the problem? How do I fix a "No ID address mark found on the floppy disk"

Possibly a silly question, as for once the error message is plain. But how do I fix this? I have used the disk before without a problem on this drive. Is is the disk or drive?

FAT32 formatting question

Way too big to format as FAT32, you need to either split the drive or format using NTFS. Cheers

Conductive paste used in very low pressure situation

This might seem off the wall but does any one have experience with using a metal paste (e.g. Arctic Silver?) in low pressure and dynamic conditions. I have slightly worn metal plate which metal chucks revolve around the perimeter. The plate is internally cooled by water and the chuck need to...

Do any SOI tricks work on PCBs?

SOI is only concerend with the junction of the transistor at very small feature sizes. This will in NO way effect a PCB. Remember that silicon is a semiconductor, PCB is not.

Just to dispel the myth about SOI processors that appears to have grown up around here. The fabricators use SOI so the transistors they can produce will change faster. It's all in the name the silicon is on an insulator which will not allow the electrons through it so keeping the junction...

w2k x-over connection

I have found an explanation for the problems, which has nothing to do with networking (sorry!) One box had it's FSB raised to 83, from 66, but the pci divider was constant at 1/2. Once I changed the FSB back to 66 all my problems went away!!!! Thanks for the help and advice, I have learnt...

dual via c3

I emailed Via when these processors first came out, hoping that I could put 2 into by BP6. But the reply was negative, the Via procesors do not support SMP
