I picked up one of these from Amazon a few months back for the same price. Its a multifunction unit (fax/scan/copy/print). Ink cost is one of the lowest around as well. It also does some nifty crap like cleaning/priming the print heads occasionally during periods of low use to help prevent...
Yeah, I've been w/ packet8 for 4yrs now, 3 of which were on the yearly plan. Roughly 16 bucks a month for unlimited voip. Plus, the only real 'downtime' I've had has been due to ISP issues.
At $300 bucks each, wouldn't you be almost just as well off getting some boxes from dell with the OS already included?
New equipment, less headache. Take the old stuff and sell, donate, or combine the drives into one box and make a NAS or similiar.
I've been using AVG for years and am very pleased with it. No probs whatsoever. Of course, I'm also not the type of person who would click a "YOUR COMPUTER MAY BE INFECTED WITH THE Gullible.User VIRUS - CLICK HERE TO REPAIR IT" popup. :/

Just received mine yesterday... pretty nice box, glossy piano black. I purchased it as a replacement for my recently deceased FIC AU13 mobo/box in my office, but may end up moving my file/media server over to it and locate it in the family room (depending on how quiet it is). Currently the...
It looks nice. Soft/Quiet key action. BUT, I can't get it to work w/ a USB kvm. Not enough juice, methinks. Also doesn't seem to like USB->PS2 adaptors.
Other than that.. it's fine. Has some heft to it as well.
Also dont forget that most inkjet printer inks are not too durable when it comes to sunlight. They'd fade quickly. Plus, if you're printing to any adhesive paper stock, just sticking a waterproof film or packing tape on it isn't going to do anything to protect the edge of the sticker...
You can probably pick up an old school external cdrom that connects to your parallel port. Check on ebay. I can't imagine one of these costing more than a few bucks. Of course, on ebay, you might pay $100 for "shipping". ;)
