If i'm connected thru both dialup and DSL, why does dialup take precedence?

go into your connection setting and change it. Most likely your dial-up is set as the default connection

Where can i download WINME updates and service packs to file?

I was trying to download updates for a laptop running ME as it did not support wireless LAN and I had no luck. I couldn't even find anything on the microsoft site. It's almost as if ME never existed

will an external Hd enclosure be affected by the 137 GB barrier on older systems?

You won't be able to get around it. Your computer will recognize it as a drive and therefore won't read more than the limit
