This week I ended up formatting their HD and changing the Temp threshold. Every time the files started to copy over the computer shut itself down! It was VERY funny.

Actually it was the slave drive to a different (500gb)SATA drive running XP and worked with no problems... I will check the jumper settings, maybe Vista is being more finaky

I had used the dvd drive a couple of days ago, and it no longer showed up under my computer... Since I just set up dual boot with Vista/Windows7 I decided to check the bios to see if it was still there. It isn't. Under DVD/Cdrom it says none. Any ideas?
Well the transfer was painless, it worked without the Windows disk... I do see some improvement in spped when using the SATA Hard Drve. I also have a Windows disk now with SP2 on it :)
