6th Annual Anandtech Tax Time Thread

Quick question: I have a portion of my home that I rent out and collect income. This summer I re-shingled my roof. Must I depreciate the rental portion of this expense, or can I just deduct the entire rental portion? Thanks, Paul

Thanks for the replies guys. I don't use the system for a lot of gaming anymore, but I do use it for some graphics intensive programs in which the Ti4600 seems to be adequate. Eventually, I do plan on buying/building a new computer but this one won't be thrown out, so I definitely want to...

Need a new/used AGP card

I've got a Geforce Ti4600 that the fan is slowly dying and want to get it replaced before it's too late. Any recommendations for a comparable or slightly better AGP card for $40 or $50 off Ebay? Sorry, I've been out of this stuff for awhile. I know this is a dinosaur but any suggestions...

Ads on tv. They suck and there getting worse.

I hardly ever watch TV commercials; the volume is much louder than the regular programming, and they are aweful. I always switch the channel when commercial are on. I've always thought commercials should be have more of an entertainment quality--just to keep me from changing the channel--much...
