yeah i knew the drivers would be old but was unsure if the extra ram would give it better graphics than the 2gb 1050.
seems its a scam anyway . thanks for clearing it up. saved him wasting his money on a brick
Hi hopefully somebody can give me some advise regarding the gtx550ti 6gb.
my friends son just bought his first pc on a budget. hes only 15 so didnt have much money to spend and the unit so it was pretty low spec.
my question is - i have been looking online for a cheap upgrade for his graphics...
so is the current
cpu clock 4.0mhz
cpu multiplier x 20
cpu voltage 1.4125
safe to run on the stock heatsink and fan.
there are also one front fan and one rear exhaust fan fitted to the case
valid point.
the main reason i was overclocking it in the first place was to impress my 13 yr old son who asked for a bulldozer 6 core for bragging rights over his friends. so i thought overclocking it to 4.6 would be the cherry on the cake.
and to be honest i did want to experiment a little...
thanks for clearing that up paperwastage
and a big thankyou to everyone else who contributed to this thread:thumbsup:
once again im impressed by the knowledge and quick responses of this forums users:)
every day i get a little more educated:cool:
ive just fitted the artic freezer pro rev2 and i cant put the side of the case back on as its too big for his case too. forgot how huge the heat sink was, its like a radiator
any sugestions on a decent heat sink and fan capable of air cooling a 4.6ghz overclock that will fit in a atx...
ran perfect on mine but i have intel i5 3750k with asus radeon 7770hd where he has AMD fx6300 with saphire tech radeon 7770hd.
seems the re install of the correct x64 operating system has solved the problem but there are still a few more games i have to install and check before i know for sure
i would have agreed with you if i had not already been using the same operating system from the same source installed on my own pc for over 12 months with no problems
i too am looking for a decent pci wifi adapter.
i have fibre optic connected through a bt home hub 3.0, my motherboard fits inside the case with the psu at the bottom so my pci slots are at the top of the case.
im assuming the location of the slots will allow for better transfer through a built...
seems the x86 operating system was the problem, i have re-installed his pc to win 7 x64 and payday 2 loads fine, havnt tried the other games yet but it looks promising.
would x86 have caused this issue or was it just a case that the operating system had not installed correctly?
one last question on this topic
i have re-installed the operating system to win 7 x64 but my confusion now is that when i install programs they install to c/programs x86?
why is this if the operating system is now x64?
yes i have checked in control panel and the operating system is def x64
