Question regarding SSDs and Hibernating

I've heard/read that it's "bad" to hibernate while using an ssd because that causes unnecessary write cycles to the drive. IDK if that's true or not, but my question is that, if I close all of my apps before hibernating, would there be anything that has to be written to the ssd?

Why a resolution discrepancy?

When I play a video in VLC player, the "codec information" shows that the "resolution" is 1280x738, yet the "display resolution" is only 1280x720. So, I was wondering why that discrepancy? Is my graphics card limiting something? Or VLC player?

1TB 7200RPM HDD or 1TB 5400RPM SSHD?

I have one those ASUS ROG laptops, so it already uses a 128gb SSD to boot up. It already has the HGST-brand 1TB HDD for storage; and I was thinking of getting the Seagate SSHD also to store stuff. Would that SSHD better, in any sense?

Did my card just get fried?

Yes, the pop was only on the metal bracket. My entire hand was wrapped around the plastic housing of the card (because the card was already half-into the case), not touching the PCB.
