I did this update a few days ago after being on the fence about it after hearing about some of the bricking issues. My PS4 has been running fine since.
Tales of Symphonia isn't an exclusive. It originally came out for Gamecube and then PS2. That being said, it's fantastic. I beat it several times on Gamecube. Tales of the Abyss was fun, but again originally a PS2 game. I heard Tales of Zestiria was terrible. I played through Tales of Vesperia...
What app are you using to play your videos on your iPad? Ive never owned an Apple product, and have been hesitant to, but the iPad Air 2 does look absolutely awesome compared to the competition.
Thanks for being frank about this. I figured I probably didn't word that correctly and I know that the codecs being used do change a lot. I thought my original idea might be too much to ask for. Anime aside, if I'm looking at using more traditional codecs, it seems like my goal is readily...

Currently running a Haswell i5...
Well I found a solution about 20 minutes after I made this thread. I did a factory reset of my monitor as I found in another thread on here. After that, a simple reboot of the system solved the problem.
I have an ASUS Z87-Pro and an i5 4760k CPU and just got my new video card and an SSD today. I set my BIOS so the default video is through PCI-E, and I got Windows installed fine while working off my monitor. Once I installed the display drivers (most recent nVidia ones), I could no longer work...
The repetitiveness of exploring the same 2 or 3 castles/caves/crypts in Skyrim for the entire game is what killed it for me. That's what makes me hesitant to play another one.
I did finish KOTOR 1,2 and really enjoyed them. Thanks for the suggestion!
