Cannot Boot from Floppy help

Is your floppy and cd bootable? Can you boot to them using a different system?

Not even boot into BIOS, no screen on monitor after replaced with case fan with temp censor mobo or cpu might die.

Any beeps at all?

human eye refresh rate

This sums up my reactions too. Anything below 60hz flickers for me and gives me insane headaches. I cannot stand flourescent lights, because they flicker at the same rate. Some people think I'm crazy because I can see the difference between a screen running at 60hz, and a screen running at 70hz.

eliminating speaker feedback/interference

Not all of your outlets may be grounded. I've lived in an apartment before where not one outlet was grounded. I had the same buzzing problems, and in order to fix it, I took some high gauge wire, screwed it to my PC case, and then wrapped it around one of the heat water pipes that went through...

Won't Boot

When the floppy drive is scanning like that (especially if you've got no video), it usually means there's a jumper set on the motherboard to allow for a manual bios update. See if you can find that jumper and set it to normal. Or, you could find a bios update, put it on a floppy, and feed it...

Ok, who didnt know - your next computer moniter must have HDCP.

Sony Blu-Ray = Sony MiniDisk's I really don't think it'll catch on. Although, MD's are a little more common in Japan iirc.

Double click on internet explorer, makes a shortcut to internet explorer.

What this sounds like to me, is the 'default' operation for clicking on an item has somehow been changed to the context-menu option of 'create shortcut'. Now, I'm sure it's easily changed back in the registry somewhere.. but I'm not sure where. I'll get back to you if I find anything. Edit...

Challenge: It's an easy task to change the rez on WinXP...

-Download this program, and put the executable (qres.exe) on a CD. -Put the CD in the drive. :) -press WindowsKey+R to get a run box. -Type CMD, then Enter to get to a dos box. -If nothing comes up, press ALT+Enter to get to full screen mode. -Go to your cd drive letter (D:, E: or whatever)...
