how do u set it back so it defaults everything. i need to to turn off the fps graph and anything else i may have changed.

Umm... the channel changing thing is a configuration setting. I think most of your experience gets chalked up to not even bothering to look at the various settings. . i did, but i guess i didnt look hard enough since it wasnt a real priority for me at this time. the software that came...

SageTV versus beyondTV

I've tried beyondtv but not sagetv. This is a little off topic, but with beyondtv and the firefly remote, you have to push 'enter' every time you want to switch channels which is insanely annoying. I know quick channel surfing with DVR's is hard because of the pause inbetween switching, but...

HL2: I'm stuck

I'm in the 'route kanal' sewers, the room filled with water where you break through some wood planks and these big wooden spools float up. The room has high walls and given the floating objects I'm guessing I have to make the room's water level go up to get me to the top, but I've shot...

How hot is too hot?

I think the idea about no case fans was that the PSU fan would be enough to suck out the heat. But still I've noticed that the video card runs about 10 degrees hotter without it and that's probably not good I guess. anyway thanks for your help:)

How hot is too hot?

My case exhaust fan is loud, and I read somewhere that in all except the most extreme setups, it's not necessary to have case fans running. That sounds strange to me, so my first question is... is that true? And also, how can I measure how hot my case is without special equipment? The only...

Power Supply with single line for AGP cards ?

New AMD 64 Build for friend

Yeah DFI NF3 and 3400+ works fine. Apparently this CPU (2.4Ghz) is the fastest you can get in this price range without going up to 3700 (754), 3800/4000, or the FX's. Seems like a good deal to me.

Ever notice technology has a mind of its own? I loaded up the new drivers (the same I had before), put all settings exactly the same as they were before, put Doom3 back up and... it plays perfect, no problems whatsoever. I don't know if it was just the beginning section of the game that was...

Well, doesn't seem to have worked... at least not exactly... not getting the vpu recover message thing, but the game in general is basically unplayable now. Instead of it locking up and resetting itself, now the screen just freezes totally with the sounds running in the background for a few...

ok reinstalled the disc drivers. wierd thing is that the 'adapter info' reads the chip type as radeon x800 LE agp. I noticed the newer drivers off the ati site read as x800XT which is correct... dont' know what LE means, but I guess it doesn't matter (?) as long as the game stops freezing...

500w fortron blue storm (just noticed the video card is now running @ 60C while surfing the net and it just froze up on me and gave me the whole 'vpu recovery has reset your card' thing again... except I'm not playing D3, just running my web browser.) going to try re installing the drivers...
