What was your most significant CPU upgrade?

Logitech z5300 speakers will not produce sound

i dont understand. where does headphones plug into the speakers. looking at the pictures, all i see is the subwoofer + amp and speakers. and what is the controller that is between the sound card and the speakers? the website doesnt give much information on this product. it could be anything...

Logitech z5300 speakers will not produce sound

could be just the volume knob is busted or something like that. if you have the know how, take it apart and look at it. things like corrosion can cause problems like that. i'll take a wild guess and say whatever controls the volume to the speakers is damaged in some way.

I know this is an old application, but I cannot find an image editor that does what IC does, and ICs ease of use is great. However I have noticed after switching to Vista that it will dither a true color image, such as a .bmp or .jpg down to 256 color even when "True Color" is selected...

got me a new laptop. what's the best free HD clone.

don't forget the HDD manufacturers usually has free cloning and backup tools. Seagate = Seatools and Western Digital has a custom version of Acronis. I would check those first but Clonezilla is great also.

Nice. I almost bought a Diamond card a long time ago, but got the Creative SoundBlaster 5.1 Live! instead (both were at Wal-Mart at the time). Let us know how it works out for you.

Thanks for starting this thread guys. I got AC'97 on my crappy motherboard also but thankfully I got an X-Fi back when Vista came out and broke my 5.1 Live! card. That was an ordeal trying to fix that and now its the first thing i expect to not work when a new version of Windows is released...

Here we go again. BSOD problems.

Hmm, you said memtest comes up clean. Sure does sound like a memory issue but its highly unlikely every stick would be bad, but not impossible. Could be bad motherboard, but memtest would prolly catch that. Or possibly bad CPU. The only thing i could think of trying is doing a fresh...
