Okay so here is the system i'm currently running and have been for...
Hey all,
I currently run 2 x Sapphire 7970's at 2560 x 1440 resolution and am having trouble running the most current games at max settings. In addition, the Crossfire setup is noisy as hell and HOT!
With that being said I am looking to go back to a single card configuration but I'm...
Ok so a month or so back when the new Diablo 3 expansion came out (Reaper of Souls), I downloaded it, installed, and it ran like a champion. I'm not sure what the FPS were but i could handle anything the game threw at me without so much as a hiccup.
Fast forward a few weeks ago (about 2)...
Okay, thanks for the advice! Think i'll just be sticking to the Crossfire if heat/noise really won't go away all that much. As ive stated, I'm pretty happy overall with the performance, I was just hoping to keep that and lose the excess noise/heat. THanks again!
Well at least your honest haha! So i'll assume a single 780ti > single 7970. With that being said, will the loss of 3g of video ram (losing the second card) really cause a noticable difference in performance?
Hey everyone,
I'm running two Sapphire 7970's (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814202008).
Running them on an Asus P9x79 Pro mobo (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16813131800R).
Monitor is a Crossover qw27 monitor running 2560 x 1440...
Ohh yea? I was actually going to use Xbmc for everything and id love to save myself $90 and go with Ubuntu but honestly i've never used any other OS than Windows (well DOS and Android i guess). Is it easy to pickup and learn?
Nope, you understand me perfectly. So yes, I could probably drop the big 1TB storage HDD for the downstairs computer and drop the SSD to maybe something <100g, So i will look into doing that. Are you also suggesting i lower my CPU? The G620 runs around $60-$70 as does the G860 if looking in...
Okay so I am looking to create my first HTPC to be used for my HDTV via HDMI. It will be located near the HDTV and I will probably run a wired network connection to it (but may do Wifi at some point, not sure).
I am looking for this HTPC to do basically 1 thing: play .mkv movies in 1080p...
This is pretty much EXACTLY what i want to do, so thanks so much for throwing out those pieces and letting me know how it runs. I'm looking to basically hook up an HTPC to my networked (wired) and run 1080p mkv movies on a HDTV downstairs so i think this setup witll be perfect. Thanks again
Wow great idea. Wish we had this when i was in college a few years ago. Spent ridiculous amount of money on college text books that are revised seemingly every other year.
