EXTREMELY frustrated with my new cpu...

Maybe your hard drive is the culprit... try Knoppix and see how well that runs. From what I've heard, Knoppix is a distribution of Linux that does not require/use a hard drive. http://www.knoppix.org/

far cry demo is out, what is your fps

Bit Torrent Link ~23kbps down, ~8 up for now (just started). Using bittorrent kinda feels like sorting garbage and recycling. Feels good to give back, esp since it takes very little effort!

Cheapest and fastest way to transfer alot of data?

I even leave the case open and 3 hard drives outside it for easy access. Nothing beats having source and destination drives on the same machine.

I guess I remember playing diablo 2 on my P-200MMX machine, and not bitching about how horribly it ran, but rather looking forward to building a new machine. I swear back then I checked all the hardware sites (even Tom's!)at least twice daily, and built and rebuilt my machine on paper every day...
