Ok update to this. The board now runs dual channel memory, I had to underclock the ddr2-1066 crucial to ddr2-800. posted dual channel right away.
Now if only i could figure out why it restarts when i do Shutdown on windows.

Using a P5E myself. It booted up fine just with "unrecognized cpu", flashed it to 605 and works fine. This was my only socket 775 cpu so I did not have a spare one either.. you should be fine on another board as well.
